Background

During Autumn 2013, the Quoakle team  launch its graphical Days Out Directory for families – Great Days Out UK.
The team drew on the valuable experience gained through the development of its easy-to-use, local, free business directory – Quoakle.
Over the last eleven years, Great Days Out UK has become one of the most popular online Days Out directories for the UK.

 

Development

Towards the end of 2022, one of the team raised the issue of finding somewhere to go for a day out if you needed to use a wheelchair. Thanks to the creativity and skill of different colleagues, within a few months, we were very excited to launch Accessible Great Days Out UK (AGDO UK). AGDO UK was designed to function as a sister directory to Great Days Out UK with clear navigation and easy-to-use links connecting the two websites.

 

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to help users find accessibility information quickly and easily for hundreds of days out attractions and activities across the UK.

Our aim is to make it as straightforward as possible to find days out businesses across the UK showing a commitment to accessibility, and to provide easy access to detailed accessibility information on the websites of our featured attractions, activities and destinations. So, for example, if you are looking for a wheelchair-friendly attraction in Cheshire, AGDO UK will feature various businesses in Cheshire through the display of attractive images with direct links to the corresponding websites, taking users straight to the relevant accessibility information.

Whether you’re navigating the challenges of finding wheelchair-friendly places to visit on holiday or looking for ideas for accessible days out near you, we’re here to point you to the essential accessibility information you need.
